Our Mission

Today, water, waste and energy can all be recovered - transforming what is discarded into a valuable resource. Veolia embraces this future by developing access to, preserving and replenishing the world's resources.

Veolia's mission is to resource the world, helping our customers address their environmental and sustainability challenges in energy, water and waste. This means improving our clients' energy efficiency, better managing their water and wastewater, and recovering resources from their wastes.

We blend skills in operations, engineering and technology with innovative business models, offering a complete range of environmental solutions to meet the challenges of cities, governments, campuses, businesses and industries.

Minimizing climate impact

From improving buildings' energy efficiency to creating alternatives to fossil fuels, we help cities and industries reduce their consumption, input costs and carbon footprint in one fell swoop.

Treating pollution

From decontaminating water to handling toxic and radioactive waste, we help cities and industries make sure that they reach the highest safety and environmental standards while protecting their natural surroundings.

Optimizing resources

From recycling electric vehicle batteries to reusing wastewater, we help cities and industries retrieve all kinds of waste and byproducts for efficient reuse and reducing demand on natural resources.

Our Purpose

Veolia's purpose is to contribute to human progress by firmly committing to the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. It is with this aim in mind that Veolia sets itself the task of "Resourcing the world" through its environmental services business.

Our Impact

In 2021, the Veolia group provided 79 million inhabitants with drinking water and 61 million with sanitation, produced nearly 48 million megawatt hours and recovered 48 million tonnes of waste.

In North America, we have 8,000 employees who tackle some of the most difficult environmental and infrastructure challenges for cities and industry.

Veolia North America has 18 sites throughout the United States and is on the ground in more than 550 communities across North America.

Ecological

Transformation

Climate change, resource depletion, biodiversity collapse, widespread pollution: the ecological emergency demands that we go beyond transition alone. We cannot delay any longer and hope to change our methods gradually. It is time for decisive, structuring choices. It is time for ecological transformation.

For Veolia, ecological transformation means working to radically change patterns of production and consumption. It means placing ecology at the heart of every process and every assessment. It means providing radical, meaningful solutions to major problems, with and for its stakeholders: local authorities, manufacturers, civil society, employees, etc.
